WHAT IS PULMONICA

The PULMONICA is a "pulmonary" harmonica - i.e. a "lung harmonica". It was specially designed to produce deep, resonant and meditative sounds that can reach deep into the lungs and pulmonary sinuses.

HOW AND FOR WHAT PURPOSE WAS PULMONICA DEVELOPED?

The PULMONICA was developed in 2013 by Dana Keller in the USA with the aim of creating a lung training device that helps and is fun at the same time. As the manufacturer for the PULMONICA, he chose the oldest harmonica factory in the world, C.A. SEYDEL Sons in Klingenthal / Germany. There the instruments are made by hand by experienced specialists and in the special tuning conceived by Dana Keller and optimized for medical use. Know-how and precision meet more than 170 years of tradition in the manufacture of high-quality harmonicas.

HOW DO I USE THE PULMONICA?

You don't need any musical talent to use them - simply breathing through the Pulmonica is harmonically calming and helps the lungs to regenerate. The PULMONICA makes it possible for everyone to incorporate the important diaphragmatic breathing into their daily routine in a playful way.

HOW LONG IS BEST TO PLAY?

The deep, pulsating frequencies of the PULMONICA gently move the lungs and sinuses. In order to enjoy breathing better and more freely over the long term, it makes the most sense to play the PULMONICA twice a day, preferably in the morning and evening for around 10 minutes.

WHEN DOES IT MAKE SENSE TO PLAY PULMONICA?

The PULMONICA helps you to improve your breathing. In particular, people with restricted or impaired lung function, symptoms of COPD, asthma or chronic bronchitis benefit from using the PULMONICA. It strengthens the respiratory muscles and the supply of your body with the elixir of life, oxygen. A high oxygen saturation of the blood is helpful in chronic fatigue, dementia, stress and mood disorders and wound healing processes. A high oxygen content in the blood is also beneficial for diabetes, post-operative treatment and trauma.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Cleanliness
Play with a clean mouth and avoid food residue getting into the PULMONICA. These would block the reeds. Do not drink sweet beverages before or while playing. Sweet drinks cause dust to stick to the pulmonica. Therefore, cleaning your PULMONICA is not only recommended for hygienic reasons. Careful maintenance lets the instrument live longer.

Care
After playing, wipe the cover plates with the included cleaning cloth. Dampen a cloth with water and clean the lids as often as necessary. Let the PULMONICA dry completely after playing. For example, lay them out on a towel with the blow openings facing up to dry.

To avoid
Do not use a hair dryer to dry - this could damage the reeds. Do not hit the instrument hard - especially the low-pitched reeds could shift and then no longer respond.

Note
In order to prolong the lifespan of your PULMONICA, it is best to bring it up to body temperature before playing. Please note the care instructions and the instructions in the leaflet so that you can enjoy your PULMONICA for a long time. Improper handling will void the manufacturer's warranty.
